Born in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, Mbasa Katywa is an attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a strong background in employment and labour law, civil litigation, and human rights.
His career began as a Legal Research Intern at the Social Justice Coalition, where he contributed to legislative submissions and constitutional litigation on policing. He went on to complete his articles at Cato Attorneys and was later appointed as an Associate, representing clients in labour and civil disputes, drafting contracts and policies, and appearing before the CCMA, Labour Court, and Magistrates’ Courts.
Mbasa, fluent in English and IsiXhosa, takes a collaborative and innovative approach, always striving to deliver fair and cost-effective solutions for his clients.
